NSW GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES SNOWTUNES FUNDING SUPPORT
NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro and Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres, today announced ongoing NSW Government support for one of Australia’s boutique music festivals, Snowtunes, for the next two years.
Mr Barilaro, the Member for Monaro, said the event is one of the most unique music festivals on the NSW Events Calendar that showcases the spectacular scenery of the Snowy Mountains.
“Snowtunes is the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow music festival, bringing some of the world’s best artists to regional NSW, who’ll put on a fantastic show with one of the most unique and exquisite vistas in Australia.
“The event is expected to bring thousands of visitors across the weekend, driving tourism across our wonderful region. With the ski slopes of Thredbo, Perisher and Blue Cow just down the road, the festival makes the perfect winter getaway with friends,” said Mr. Barilaro.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors for Snowtunes to enjoy coolest music acts and attractions, paired with our regions warmest, unmistakable hospitality.”
Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said the event will help ensure the State remains at the top of Australia’s tourism boom.
“The NSW Government has continued to ensure every corner of the State shares in the visitor spend and investment generated from our diverse events portfolio. We’re committed to turbocharging rural and regional tourism and sharing the best of the Bush, our breathtaking mountains and scenic coastline with the world.
“Regional events such as Snowtunes are an important contributor to regional tourism, attracting interstate and international visitation and injecting a significant economic boost into the local region, ultimately creating extra jobs for the people of NSW,” Mr. Ayres said.
Snowtunes is set to run across two days on Friday, August 30th and Saturday, August 31st 2019. For more information, go to www.Snowtunes.com.au.
