Jindabyne HealthOne officially opened by John Barilaro
Monday, 24 July 2017
Member for Monaro John Barilaro today officially opened the brand new $2.5 million HealthOne facility in Jindabyne.
“Co-locating the HealthOne facility and consolidating health services at a one-stop facility with the successful Jindabyne GP Super Clinic means our residents are provided with multi-disciplinary integrated health services at the same level as some bigger towns and cities,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Opening this HealthOne facility means the people of Jindabyne and surrounds will have quality health care services closer to home. The NSW Government is committed to getting on with the job and ensuring that regional communities have access to quality care, and the completion of the HealthOne facility is the perfect example of this commitment.
“HealthOne is a model of care that aims to create a stronger and more efficient primary health care system by bringing Commonwealth-funded general practice and state-funded primary and community health care services together.”
Mr Barilaro congratulated those involved in the building and construction of the HealthOne facility following the recent awarding of “Best Commercial New Building $1m – $3m” at the 2017 NSW Master Builders Association Excellence in Regional Building Awards.
Jindabyne HealthOne will be home to community health services including a community nurse, women’s health nurse, child and family nurse, community midwife, podiatry services, dietetics, speech pathology, occupational therapy, counselling, and mums and bubs group education.
Since 2006, the NSW Government has committed almost $46 million to the capital development of integrated HealthOne NSW services across the State. A further $5 million per year has been made available to Local Health Districts to support nursing, allied health and service integration positions within HealthOne NSW and other primary and community health services.
