COACH TRIALS TO BETTER CONNECT THE MONARO
Residents across the Monaro will benefit from two of six new regional coach trials being rolled out across the State, as part of the NSW Government’s election commitment to better connect regional communities with nearby centres.
Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the new Cabramurra to Cooma and Delegate to Nimmitabel coach trials will be a game changer for the Monaro.
“During the election campaign I heard loud and clear that residents in the Monaro want better transport services to Canberra and now the NSW Nationals in Government have delivered on that,” Mr Barilaro said.
As of this week a new trial coach service will connect Cabramurra, Anglers Reach, Adaminaby, Dairymans Plains and Cooma.
A separate trial will operate between Delegate, Bombala, Bibbenluke and Nimmitabel, with both services connecting to an existing coach service between Cooma and Canberra.
“These two new services will create more opportunities for residents to visit friends and family, go shopping and attend medical appointments,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Living in the regions should not limit our options when it comes to medical care and social activities. I am thrilled to see these services now being offered in Monaro.
“I strongly encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity for easier and more accessible transport to and from home.”
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the new services would create new links for small communities.
“These new services will initially commence on a trial basis, allowing us to make the right changes in response to feedback to improve connections and better service local communities,” Mr Toole said.
“These latest coach trials are part of a bigger program of new services we are delivering to customers across NSW to help regional communities stay connected.”
The new coach services began this week and will be operated by NSW TrainLink. You can book tickets to these services online at https://transportnsw.info/regional.
