Member for Monaro John Barilaro and Parliamentary Secretary for Southern NSW Bronnie Taylor MLC today visited Bombala’s Platypus Reserve to announce facility upgrades through funding secured as part of the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.

Mr Barilaro said Snowy Monaro Regional Council will receive $25,000 to improve pathways allowing for disabled access and planting native species including bush tucker plants.

“The Monaro is full of beautiful wildlife areas including the Bombala Platypus Reserve,” Mr Barilaro said.

“With works set to start in two weeks, soon a greater number of residents and visitors to the area will be able to access the reserve and spot a platypus or two.

“The upgrade will enhance visitors’ experiences and also create an accessible environment that everyone is able to enjoy.

“The Community Building Partnership (CBP) program aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities and deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes, exemplifying the NSW Government’s commitment to funding new community infrastructure projects to enhance local facilities.”
