Big upgrade ahead for Jindabyne Memorial Hall
The Jindabyne Memorial Hall will soon receive a facelift, after receiving more than $130,000 thanks to the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund. Deputy Premier and Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the upgrade to Jindabyne’s Memorial Hall is long overdue.
“The Jindabyne Memorial Hall is a key part of Jindabyne but the reality is that the current facility is not up to scratch for the community,” Mr Barilaro said. “This funding will mean Snowy Monaro Regional Council will be able to upgrade the hall’s heating and cooling system so it’s more user friendly, particularly during the winter. “Thanks to this upgrade the hall will be able to be used year round, meaning the community will be able to hold more events and celebrations.”
Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Peter Beer welcomed the funding from the NSW Government and said the new heating and cooling system will improve the hall’s future functionality. “I would like to thank Mr Barilaro and the NSW Government for funding this important community project,” Cr Beer said. “The Jindabyne Hall is well used by our community organisations and these upgrades will ensure users of the hall will have a more suitable and comfortable space to enjoy for years to come.”
The $400 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government’s $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund, which is being invested in local programs and infrastructure that improve the lives of people living in regional NSW.
