ACE SERVED FOR BERRIDALE TENNIS CLUB

The Berridale Tennis Club has been revealed among other big winners from the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grants program.

Member for Monaro John Barilaro announced today that the club will receive a welcome boost of $10,000 to upgrade fencing and a concrete surface for a new practice hard court.

“The Berridale Tennis Club is an important part of the local community and this grant will help the club continue to deliver programs and training for players of all ages,” Mr Barilaro said.

“Drought, bushfires and now the COVID-19 pandemic have created significant uncertainty for sport in NSW, particularly in our regional areas

“However, as COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, sports like tennis are becoming more popular with people looking at different ways to stay fit and healthy.

“These upgrades will not only ensure players can safely practice their skills but will also help attract more members to the club.”

The grant is thanks to the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program, which awards sporting organisations up to $20,000 for projects that focus on development and participation, access and facility development.
